Multisports...

Took sometime off to type something on my blog.. Since Singapore Biathlon and Milo Youth Tryathlon are coming in 2 days time (7th March), I might as well write something about it..

The biathlon here can be mistaken with the winter sport biathlon, which consists of skiing and shooting at certain spots of the race. The latter is usually done during winter, where the former (also known as Aquathlon) can be done anytime of the year. Anyways, back to my blog..

As the name says, biathlon is a sport consisting of 2 sports done one after the other, in this case an athlete swims first, then runs. Distance wise, Singapore Bi. requires me to swim 1.5km and run 10km. There are shorter distances too to cater to first-timers or people who prefer the shorter routes.

In triathlon, bicycling is sandwiched between the swim and run leg, requiring more of the athlete. Many will be familiar with the Ironman and 70.3 races, where people young or old come to compete or finish the gruelling race within a time limit. It can be really satisfying to complete a race of such challenge, and to see someone completing it can really cause him/her to participate in one!

But before you try anything of above, do consult a doctor to see if you can take the strain of such sports. Multisports require athletes to work beyond the normal capacity of the individual, and going into one too quickly may cause problems to the body. So do see a doc before trying..

Now back to my work... Aiyo..so hard to think!!
